Their remit is to "inform, educate and entertain"

The Breakfast Show has been running since 1967, but Greg James took over as the 16th presenter in 2018.
BBC Radio 1 is broadcast on FM, DAB, Freeview, Freesat, Virgin, Sky, or online via BBC Radio Player (including via the phone or tablet app) where it can be heard live or streamed for 30 days.
It is produced by the BBC from its own studios at Broadcasting House in London.

The radio 1 breakfast has been targeting a younger audience  age 15-29 this is shown through the censored words which could influence or disturb others,furthermore,the presenters are not talking as much when they do its rather fast and can be humours.The Radio has used different genres to gain interest in a larger base of people having;pop music,hip hop,rap and rock having artist from different parts of the Uk and America.They also educate the listeners every half an hour to inform them on the latest news in the world,such as Brexit and awaring those nearby a certain town that a rapist has escaped prison,even latest news in America with 500 migrants trying to cross the Us border.These are interesting and important information that should be acknowledged.The quiz was also in to entertain those who are listening to get those listening to be involved by calling them up.

He would enjoy to listen to people talking about football maybe players or even managers and fans opinions on how certain teams are doing and about their life,this is talked about every 30 minutes.He would also enjoy to listen to comedians that come onto the radio such as John Richardson that came on the R1 BS and comedy stories throughout the 3 hrs.


Female 17, student, listens to R1 BS via podcast and on way to college in car (loves pop music, enjoys going to festivals).


she would like to listen to people like Nicki Minaj,Ariana Grande and Drake ect,so she would enojy to listen to latest information about them.As she also likes to go to festivals  they decide to do contests which have ADs for free concert tickets.





How ladish is the radio?



Tweeter has a large base of younger generations with 326 million active users.This is a great bases to get others attention on finding the skip lady.













This is radio 1 and radio 1 breakfast show social medias.Posting photos with famous idols and interviews they've done to get those who's fans of the singer or actor ect decide to watch.The post about whats important and content that might be competitions and interacting with the younger generations as they also film.

The BBC radio 1 a British radio broadcasted internationally,which specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day.Changing the genres of music after 7pm for those who may listen to a different range of music such as hip hop,rock,indie ect.
Radio 1 has unfortunately had a decline in audience numbers,this can be due to people no longer wanting to listen to live radio anymore, as the organisation has steps to maintain their growth. BBC’s Media Centre posted on 26 October 2017,In 2017 BBC radio 1 had an audience of 10.9m but has declined to 10.5m listeners this year.

One reason why the numbers may have declined is people tend to not want to listen live radio,due to the increase of technology and other sources that are provide that people ay prefer.people are turing away from live radio as they now have an easier options such as a large base of streaming services,giving those the option to listen to their own musics and avoid unnecessary advertising and podcast that they may not want to listen too.Listening to music on your phone as became much more popular as people have spotify which has an amazing 83 million payed subscriptions,thus makes it harder for Radio stations to have a larger base of an audience.


People aged from 15 to 24 listen to the radio more than the average adult thus conveys they're their targeted audience,Radio 1 uses different techniques to maintain the audience and maybe even increase them,them having a Facebook,Twitter and Instagram page allows the younger generation to follow them on social media to see what they've been getting up to.Statistics have shown 42% of 15-24 year olds have they chosen radio station on their social media.BBC 1 they post short clips and photos  onto their sites with famous idols and interviews they've done getting those who's fans of the singers or actors ect which can then influence them to decide to watch other interviews or  challenges with different celebrities.The celebritiy content is a brat way to get paucity and a larger awareness and viewers.Furthermore, the humour on the radio is also targeted towards a younger audience having insults and jokes throughout to keep listeners entertained.

The music they provide during the day often hip hop such as Cardi B ,Offset,Niki Minaj which target most of the younger generation.The music has American artists such as Drake and also Birtish artist such as Little mix.
